Brief Bio
Markus Helfert is Director of the Business Informatics Group at Dublin City University, and a Senior Lecturer in Information Systems at the School of Computing, Dublin City University (Ireland). He is senior academic at Lero - The Irish Software Research Centre. He is a research affiliate at The Open Government Institute at Zeppelin University in Germany. His research interests include Information Management, Innovation, Cloud Computing, Service Science, Enterprise Architecture and Open Data and Smart Cities. Currently he advises several small and medium sized Enter prise in relation to Innovation and IT Management. Markus Helfert has authored more than 200+ academic articles, journal and book contributions and has presented his work at international conferences. He is member of international programme committees and reviewer and associate editor of several IS journals. Dr. Helfert has received national and international grants from agencies such as European Union (FP7; H2020), Science Foundation Ireland and Enterprise Ireland. Prior to his appointment at Dublin City University, he held a research position at the Institute of Information Management at the University of St. Gallen. Dr. Helfert holds a PhD from the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland), an MSc from the University of Mannheim (Germany) and a BSc from Napier University in Scotland (UK). ... More >>

Brief Bio
Andreas Holzinger is head of the Research Unit Human–Computer Interaction, Institute of Medical Informatics, Statistics and Documentation, Medical University Graz, Associate Professor of Applied Informatics at the Faculty of Computer Science, Institute of Informationsystems and Computer Media and Lecturer at the Faculty of Electrical and Information Engineering, Institute of Genomics and Bioinformatics at Graz University of Technology. He serves as consultant for the Canadian, Swiss, French and Dutch Government, for the German Excellence Initiative and as national expert in the Europ an Commission (Lisbon Delegate 2000). Andreas, born 1963, started as an apprentice in Information Technology in 1978; while working as an industrial engineer, he resumed a parallel second-chance education, finished his PhD in Cognitive Science in 1997 and completed his second doctorate (Habilitation) in Computer Science in 2003. Since 1999 participation in leading positions in 30+ R&D multi-national projects, budget 3+ MEUR;300+ publications, 3600+ citations; Andreas was Visiting Professor in Berlin, Innsbruck, Vienna, London, and Aachen. He is passionate on bringing together Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (KDD), with the goal of supporting human intelligence with machine intelligence – to discover new, previously unknown insights into complex biomedical data. Brief Bio
Orlando Belo is an associate professor with habilitation in the Department of Informatics at Minho University, Portugal. He is also a member of the Algoritmi R&D Centre in the same university, working in areas like Data Warehousing Systems, OLAP, and Data Mining. His main research topics are related with data warehouse design, implementation and tuning, ETL services, and distributed multidimensional structures processing. During the last few years he was involved with several projects in the decision support systems area designing and implementing computational platforms for specific applications like fraud detection and control in telecommunication systems, data quality evaluation, and ETL systems for industrial data warehousing systems. More recently, he was developing some research work establishing OLAP usage profiles and optimizing OLAP selection methods incorporating knowledge acquired over OLAP user sessions and users’ preferences. ... Chiara Francalanci is professor of information systems at Politecnico di Milano. She has a Master's Degree in Electronic Engineering and a Doctorate in Information Engineering both from Politecnico di Milano. As part of her post doctoral studies, she worked for two years at the Harvard Business School as a Visiting Researcher where she graduated in Management of the Information Systems Resource. She has over 15 years of experience in applied research and consulting.
